Memorial Day
Years ago we didn't use artificial flowers to decorate our family's graves. We would go to Aunt Madge and Francis' house and pick the real thing.
Mother used tin cans wrapped in aluminum foil added some water and fresh flowers. We would make the rounds to Arcola, Mound, & Salisbury Cemeteries to show our respect to departed family members. At Mound Cemetery we would drive up the hill to see the Dog Monument.
Aunt Madge and Francis would make beauftiul arrangements in big baskets to place on the graves and also took flowers to church on Sundays.

Wedding at the M.E. Parsonage (Front page)
Mr. John Lutz and Miss Lillie E. Thompson were married at the M. E. parsonage last Tuesday afternoon, Rev. J.M. Bennington performing the ceremony.
The young couple will go to house keeping at once on Miss Eliza Bartholomew's farm one and one-half miles north of Filson.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Lutz and the bride a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Thompson. The young people are both prominent in the young people's societies of the Methodist church. Their many friends join in wishing them a long and happy wedded life.

Last week we visited Amy in Nashville and Jim talked to her 3rd grade class about maps. Saw some green grass giving us hope that spring is coming.

New Camera Canon Powershot SX120IS
Before Christmas I purchased a new digital camera. I wasn't happy with the pictures taken with it over the holidays so I returned the camera. After looking at other cameras and reading about them on the internet I still didn't know what to buy. So guess what I brought the same one again...........the salesman convinced me to give it a second chance. So far so good, Katelyn will be the real test.
