Actually May 3 was Mothers second wedding day.
During the 1920's "Tom Thumb" weddings were very popular. At these events you would see a mock wedding with children dressed in formal attire. The Tom Thumb wedding was fashioned after the famous midget couple in the P.T. Barnum Circus,Tom Thumb and Lavinia Warren, who were married in 1863.
